Jeronimo Baron as AURELIANO in 100 YEARS OF SOLITUDE |
Our coverage of the Colombian Netflix series, 100 Years of Solitude continues, adapted from the renowned magical realism novel by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Episode 2 is called It's Like an Earthquake. Aureliano begins to have visions of death, even though no one in Macondo has ever died. While Jose Arcadio Buendia spends the last of their family's money on alchemy, Ursula begins her own thriving business selling candy. Meanwhile Jose Arcadio, Jr. is seduced by a much older woman named Pilar, leading to a moment of crisis for the family.
We also speculate on what the story might be saying about connection, isolation, and politics in the world of Colombia.
